Different

Spring is on its way!!  I am so excited that soon it will be warming up.  It is amazing how much WE LET the weather control our moods and how productive we are at home and how much we get out and exercise, etc...!!!  I am really starting to "re-think" some of my thinking and habits.  I have not really thought about this "re-thinking" so I don't have a lot to elaborate on but I will keep you posted on how it goes!!
I am going to be looking at and FOR that verse that says we should be IN the world but Separate!!!

I just wonder what that is supposed to look like in my life...and how GOD wants me to be different.

Amish are different.

New York

I am not waiting…GOD DID IT.  (so now I am waiting on other things!  Hehe)

Micah got a wonderful job with the forest…we thought it was because we knew someone on the hiring committee, Mike.   When we got here (NY) we stayed the night with them and that is when we found out it was only God!! Mike, who was on the hiring committee, pulled his name from the committee when he found out he knew someone personally who was applying…so ALL GLORY goes to GOD…of course as always!!

All good things are from above!!

 I HAVE A JOB…
I am making coffee at Storylines Cafe for the people of Burdett NY who need to warm up a bit.
Some of those fancy coffees are very complicated…Storylines says I am a natural…I hope it is not beginners luck.

Went to bed and it was raining and wake up and it is snowing!!

we wait and he rises and is RAISED

Xanga and I have a lot in common these days – we are learning how to patiently wait.

It looks as though I have not paid any attention to xanga because I have not written a thing since last year!  In reality I have been reading and enjoying being (an inactive) part of this small community that I have subscribed to.  One of my favorites is my new sister in law, she has such a neat talent of taking the ordinary and making it seem SO SPECIAL i.e. feeding Lamas.  Not that that is so ordinary but...whatever!

So, like I said, xanga I have been waiting.

Me, I am learning how to wait on the Lord and hold on to HIM - His truth, His words and His promises.

His Love is as wide as HIS forgiveness as far as the east is from the west.

The Bible says in Isaiah that the Lord LONGS to be gracious to you; he RISES to show compassion.  For the LORD is a God of justice.  Blessed are all who wait for him!

So what I have been concentrating on is HIM, waiting on him, letting His desires become my hearts desires.  This is so hard and painful and in those times of  “darkness” I count my blessings or at least try to.

It is hard giving up parts of myself that I have held onto so tight, but as I have experienced in the past with some issues, it is so easy accepting the goodness of His dreams and riches!!

Ok, so how is that for a re-entrance back into xanga?

Northside Primary School, Gabarone, Botswana!!

Deep in the heart of Africa 3 children desperate for entertainment wrote a song called TALKING IN CLASS sung to the tune of that old song that goes “the answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind.”

Written by: April, Josh and a dear friend Jeanne M.

How many times can a kid lose his break with Mrs. Ward at their side?

Yes ‘n how many times can Mrs. Thomas pull your ears, before they fall off?

Yes ‘n how many history lessons can you miss with Mrs. Rettig in your class?

The answer my pal is talking in class the answer is talking in class.

How many gas lamps must Mrs. Ward have, before they of on the trip?

Yes ‘n how many tunes must you sing before Miss King lets you free?

Yes ‘n how many chains must you take off before Miss Chambers is pleased?

The answer my pal is talking in class the answer is talking in class.

How many plays did Mrs. Sanders conduct before she left the school?

Yes ‘n how many stories can Mrs. Withey read in one school year?

Yes ‘n how many words must you write in your book in one science lesson?

The answer my pal is talking in class the answer is talking in class.

So that’s all we have to say about our teachers in Northside Primary School.

Redeeming the Season: Simple Ideas for a Memorable And Meaningful Christmas (Focus on the Family Resources)
By Kim Wier, Pam McCune

Christmas in October!!

I am reading this book called Redeeming the Season.  Yes a Christmas book!
It is a really neat book giving ideas for creating traditions in your family to honor Christ at Christmas.  One of the best activities it has in my opinion is called prophecy boxes.  What you do is point a promise God made in the OT and how He fulfilled it in the NT.  Every day in Dec. your family would review one prophecy and its fulfillment.
For example on December 1st the prophecy is: Micah 5:2 You, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins re from old, from ancient times.
And the fulfillment is: Matthew 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod Magi from the east came to Jerusalem.
This is a book that I think the IMB or any mission board should give out to their missionaries to creatively "Savor the Savior."  Young families leaving their families in the US might need some encouragement and even ideas in how to create new traditions.
